PLAY GOLF AMERICA DAY COMING TO GREENSBORO
Fun-filled day of FREE golf activities at the Carolinas Golf Practice & Learning Center will include instruction from Carolinas PGA professionals, golf clinics, equipment testing, product giveaways, long drive exhibitions and much more!
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (April 5, 2007)
Ron Schmid, Executive Director of the Carolinas PGA, has announced that a Play Golf America Day will be held at the Carolinas Golf Practice & Learning Center on Saturday, May 5th. The Play Golf America Day will be held from 10 am – 4 pm and is free to the general public. Created to showcase the game of golf in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, Play Golf America Days are put on by The PGA of America with presenting sponsors Buick and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
While promoting good health and exercise, Play Golf America Day at the Carolinas Golf Practice & Learning Center will be a fun-filled event packed with a variety of golf activities. Highlighting the day will be free instruction and golf clinics conducted by more than 20 Carolinas PGA teaching professionals from throughout the Carolinas, for beginners, intermediate, and advanced level players alike. These golf professionals will also provide 10 minute tune-ups and conduct demonstrations on all facets of the game.
“We are thrilled to have been selected by the Carolinas PGA to host a Play Golf America event on our expansive practice facility,” said Carolinas Golf Practice & Learning Center Director of Instruction Rick Murphy. “Our Play Golf America Day will be an excellent opportunity for new golfers, casual golfers, avid golfers, and families to get free tips to improve their game, try out the latest golf equipment and interact with some of the greatest instructors in the Carolinas.”
All attendees will receive a complimentary golf goody bag. Play Golf America Day at the Carolinas Golf Practice & Learning Center will also feature a performance by Cobra Golf Long Drive Team member Brian Nash, one of the world’s longest drivers. A twenty-year veteran of the golf industry, Nash hit the first-ever homerun in Pinnacle Long Drive Derby. Nash has also finished in the Top Five at the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships each of the last three years, with his longest drive in competition being measured at 475 yards.
Many of the golf industry’s leading equipment manufacturers including Wilson, Cobra, and Ping will be present to provide hands-on testing of the newest and hottest golf products on the market. Play Golf America participants will have the opportunity to test drivers on the range, wedges in the chipping area and putters on the practice green. Representatives from each participating manufacturer will also be on hand to provide club fitting and product insight. Additionally, participants will have the chance to register for hourly door prizes, which include golf equipment and apparel.
